Does an outing in nature (even if it’s just an hour) invigorate you like it does me?

I’m always up for a drive through the countryside or to the mountains or the water. Tom and I take advantage of opportunities to drive the back roads or explore new destinations every chance we get. I’ve been thinking about which photos we’ve taken on our outings that you might enjoy, and I decided to share some random shots that illustrate the lyrics of part of verse one of the hymn, “This is My Father’s World.” This is my Father’s world; I rest me in the thought Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas; His hand the wonders wrought.

I invite you to take a few minutes and breathe in the mountain air, hear the ocean waves, delight in the many colors of the sky, and enjoy God’s creation. As we begin another troubled week in the world, let the beauty of nature and the words of verse three of the hymn lead you to the peace and grace of Jesus.

This is my Father’s world:
O let me ne’er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the Ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world:
Why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King: let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let earth be glad!
