Do you enjoy listening to podcasts?

I’ve got several that I listen to regularly. I’d like to share them with you from time to time, and maybe you’ll share some with us as well. And if you’ve never listened to podcasts, maybe you’ll be inspired to give it a try.

A few months ago I discovered Women Worth Knowing. It is a podcast hosted by author Cheryl Brodersen and Jasmine Alnutt, a history teacher. They share stories of women from history as well as some contemporary women whose stories offer insight and encouragement in our lives as followers of Jesus. They post a new episode every Tuesday, and I’m a faithful Tuesday listener!

Both Cheryl and Jasmine are avid readers. They have read biographies of Christian women for many years and share these women’s stories with passion. During a 30-minute podcast I am immersed into another time and place where people struggle with their issues and seek the heart of God, just like we do here and now.

I didn’t know about Elizabeth Fry, who was a trailblazing prison reformer, until last week, when I heard their first of two episodes of her life on the Women Worth Knowing podcast. They inspired me to do further research and share a bit of Elizabeth’s story with you.

I discovered Women Worth Knowing as I was finishing up my blog post on Fanny Crosby. They were knowledgable about Fanny and animated in their storytelling. I was hooked.

Here is the link to the Women Worth Knowing podcast. I hope you enjoy it.
