I’ve got some questions for you about words:
• Do you know how many words a person speaks in a day? Or how many words they hear in a day?
• Are there some words that paint a picture for you because of their sound?
• What’s your very favorite word of all words? Why?
• Are you good at Scrabble? Have you ever won a spelling bee? Do you enjoy the vocabulary quiz in Reader’s Digest?
• Have you ever said something you wish you hadn’t?
Theme of the Month; Hymn of the Month
These are some of the kinds of things we’ll talk about this month, April, 2021, on the Salt & Pepper Blog. I’m looking forward to a great time with you as we explore words, language, and communication.
Today we are starting with our Hymn of the Month (OK, maybe not really a hymn but a great song by Michael Card.) It’s about God’s final word, the word that changed everything. You can read the lyrics here.
“And so the Light became alive and manna became man, Eternity stepped into time so we could understand.” God’s final word was his best word. Praise God for Jesus, the Word who spoke the world into being and then entered it himself to demonstrate the depth of the Father’s love.
