There’s no better place to be than near the heart of God. That is where we find our rest.
In this noisy, chaotic world rest seems out of reach. But Jesus offers us real rest, as we read in Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG):
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Whatever you are experiencing today, you could probably benefit from rest. Here are two songs for you, calling you to the gift of sweet rest that comes from God.
The first one is an old hymn you may have grown up on.
Click here to listen to Steve Green as he sings Rest. It is one that my sister Peach sang on many occasions. I hope you receive the Lord’s invitation to find rest in him today.

Good morning, Ginger. So good to read your words on REST this day. Just what I need.
Thanks for your comment, Katherine. Rest is so important, isn’t it! It’s something I need too.
Blessings,
Ginger
I had never heard this song before Ginger but I really like it. I’m going to forward it on to a friend of mine who is taking care of her husband with Alzheimer’s.Thanks so much! You are always a blessing to me!
I’m glad you liked it, Deanne. It was one Peach sang. I think your friend will be happy to be introduced to it too!
